Picnic Academy: The only way is up

Picnic's cheerful electric vehicles have become a permanent feature on our streets. You use their app to order your shopping, which is then delivered to your door. No delivery charges, just a smile.

Speed is the key word for the online supermarket, and not just on the busy work floor. In the space of 5 years, Picnic experienced exponential growth from 30 to 6,000 employees. And in partnership with TinQwise, they built their new online Academy in just 6 weeks.

That very high speed of work and growth was also Picnic's challenge. How do you directly communicate new processes with thousands of employees in three countries? How do you ensure that everyone works safely? How do you give space for personal development? And how do you create personal bonds with such a rapidly growing company?

Picnic wanted a single platform on which it could share knowledge and skills. They fell for Tinqwise’s Academy and the option to design content themselves. Learning journeys, safety rules, processes... You can now check everything on your mobile whenever you want. Easy to navigate. And extremely fast. Obviously.

Sophie de Jong, Picnic

"TinQwise had a clear plan about what needed to be done to go live. We had lots of phone calls and emails, but the bottom line was: just do it. Create content. Here's the platform, use it. That was amazing. And brilliant to work on. After 6 weeks, we went live."

Life's a Picnic!

Over 5 years, Picnic has acquired lots of knowledge and experience, which is shared through the Academy. What does the company stand for? How do you work here? Everyone is on the same page through the attractive learning bites and modules, combined with offline training and workshops.

Risk of word of mouth

Picnic has lots of locations. The risk of this is that important information is passed on by word of mouth, with everyone in the chain then unintentionally giving it their own interpretation. With the Academy, the communication is easy, clear and direct. Top down, but also bottom up. If a delivery person learns something valuable in daily practice, that can be shared with all their colleagues.

The only way is up

You can regard working for Picnic purely as a part-time job. Or you can have the ambition to grow. In both cases, the Academy has learning bites at all levels to help you with your personal development. The app offers every opportunity: the only way is up. You decide how far you want to grow.

From process to smile

Many processes are involved in finally delivering shopping to the door with a smile. It requires numerous skills, which you can easily learn through the Academy. The short bites are relevant to everyone - in work and outside.

Work in progress

Work in progress

Picnic constantly creates fresh content. And TinQwise continuously develops new learning services and features, so that the platform always offers surprising options. In this way, Picnic can further deepen and expand the Academy. In short, an endless and inspiring work in progress.

Sophie de Jong, Picnic

"Creating content isn't hard because we have the expertise in house. The main thing is: know what you want to communicate. And TinQwise has handy templates for that. And guidelines to make good and clear learning bites. After that, it's simple: add it to the platform."
