Culinary onboarding

Students earning extra money in college, extra help in the busy summer months, agency workers – for many, the hospitality industry is a transient profession. A coming and going of people whom you, the owner, want to keep for as long as possible so that they feel connected to your business. The same goes for Debuut, a company that manages catering establishments throughout the Netherlands. Real problem-solvers, with their own vision of hospitality. But how do you get your employees, spread across restaurants all over the country, to feel that they’re part of the greater whole?

TinQwise developed an onboarding platform, an app, to give new employees a flying start and remind current employees of that familiar Debuut feeling. Because all of the employees are ultimately part of Debuut. Even if they work in their own restaurant’s work clothing every day.

Smarter

The app dashboard is made up of two parts: preboarding and onboarding. They consist of short learning bites, full of job-related knowledge. As a new employee, you can learn new things before you get down to work, but also while you’re already working. So that you can also find information when you need it during your work.

More social

You’re never alone in the hospitality industry. You work with colleagues and you learn from them. The platform has the same structure: one central location for (new) employees that combines learning and communicating and connects people with Debuut. At the end of every learning bite, you as a user can say what you thought of it. And you also see the results achieved by your colleagues straight away. So that besides learning on your own, you also learn from each other. We call this social learning.

Start small, dream big

The app isn’t just intended for onboarding. Thanks to all the useful information it contains, it can also widen your horizons if you want to keep growing inside Debuut. This results in a fixed group of dedicated employees that you can reach through one central channel. All of these employees have a profile in the app, so it will be easy to add a chat function or photo book in the future. That way you can not only develop yourself – the platform can develop too!
